October 17: International Day for the Eradication of Poverty event at ACPD

Next Sunday is the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. We will gather at the Action Committee for People with Disabilities (948 View St, http://www.actioncommittee.ca/) at 11am to reaffirm our commitment to ending the violence known as poverty.

There will be food and entertainment, as well as a whole community of people unified in our struggle for economic justice.  BC has been exploited, robbed, and its people plunged into deeper and deeper levels of despair.  We have the lowest minimum wage in the country as well as the terrible distinction of having the highest child poverty rate 6 years running.
